Electronics & Communication Engineering
The B. Tech programme in Electronics & Communication Engineering started in SNGIST under M G university in the year 2010. The objective of the course is to impart all the concepts and ideas in the field of electronics and communication engineering.
The curriculum includes both the theoretical and practical aspects in the field of electronics engineering which imparts the practical aspects to the students and also provides students with adequate background for pursuing a career in the industry or for further higher studies in the discipline and also make them quality engineers to the society.
The department consists of both well experienced as well as young energetic junior faculty members. We used to conduct Faculty development programmes and workshops on certain aspects. The department also provides proper guidelines for project works with innovative ideas for the growth and development of their career.
The department is well equipped with full fledged laboratories.
Electronic Circuits lab: The main aim of the lab is to expose the student with practical awareness for the components like diode, transistor (BJT & FET), and study its characteristics. Through this lab the students will get a thorough understanding of various applications of electronic components.
Analog Communication lab: The main objective of this lab is to gain the practical hands on experience by exposing the students to various modulation and demodulations techniques. The students will have an understanding of the concepts involved in transmission and reception of the signals in communication.
Signal Processing Lab: The main objective of this lab is to gain the practical hands on experience by exposing the students to various digital signal processing activities. The students will have an understanding of the concepts of DSP processors and their architecture. The softwares used are MATLAB, Scilab, etc. The digital signal processing lab will give a thorough understanding of various DSP processors and various DSP instructions. The various signal processing operations such as linear convolutions and circular convolution and the design of various filters are studied and the simulated outputs are seen.
Digital Electronics lab: To impart the concepts of digital electronics practically and train students with all the equipments which will help in improving the basic knowledge in Digital Electronics.
