Admission to SNGIST hostel shall be opened to students admitted to various courses according to availability of room. The allocation will be on ‘first come first serve’ basis.
Admission to hostels is not the right of any student. The Manager and the Director of the college reserves the right to open or close any or all of the hostels or parts thereof, deny admission to or expel any student or shift a student from one hostel or room to another without assigning any reason.
Admission to hostels shall be made on academic year basis.
Application for admission to the hostel shall be made in the prescribed application form available in the office.
Accommodation in the hostel shall be limited to the duration of the course for which a student is admitted and he/she shall be required to vacate the hostel within seven days of his/her taking the last written/practical/viva-voce examination of the regular course.
Rent, fee and other payments to the hostel should be made in advance in the college office on production of application form duly recommended by the Manager and Director for getting the admission to the hostel. All subsequent payment of hostel fees shall be made monthly to the warden on prescribed dates.
On allotting the room, the student has to submit a declaration, stating that he/she is jointly and severally responsible for the furniture and fixtures in the room and the hostel and if any furniture or fixtures are seen damaged, its cost will be realized from inmates.
Students admitted to the hostel shall not engage themselves in any unlawful act, destruction of public property, or in any other act of indiscipline. Smoking and consuming alcohol or any type of narcotics is strictly prohibited in the hostel.
The office of the college shall maintain a separate register for students recommended for each hostel accommodation. Students shall be permitted to take the examination only on the production of NO DUES CERTIFICATE from the hostel warden.
The students are advised not to keep valuables like money, jewelry etc. in the room, and management will not be responsible for any loss of valuables.
Silence should be maintained during the prescribed study time which shall be checked by the hostel warden.
Ragging of any kind is strictly prohibited and those found guilty, will be prosecuted under IPC.
Inmates of hostels should be back in their rooms at 7.00 p.m. on all days and those who want to attend lab or library beyond 7 p.m. shall obtain permission from the warden on such days.
Visitors will be allowed in the hostel only from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. To meet an inmate, the visitor should obtain permission from the warden and be seated in the visitors room. They are not expected to enter the rooms without a special permission.
All students to adhere the hostel rules and regulations and also the instructions passed on from time to time by the hostel authorities.
