Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in SNGIST under M.G University, in the year of 2010, with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of Computer Science. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers 4 years undergraduate program leading to the award of B.Tech Degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
The curriculum balances the practical and theoretical aspects of computer science and Engineering and provides students with adequate background for pursing a career in the industry or for further graduate study in the discipline and also create socially responsible engineers.
The department maintains active contacts with both industry and research labs and participates in developing state-of-art computing systems. With rapidly evolving technology and the continuous need for innovation, the department has always produced quality professionals. The department provide various labs like Internet Lab,Programming Lab,Networking Lab,Communication Lab,CAD Lab and Hardware labs . Our labs provides total of 420 machines with configuration i3,i5 4GB/8GB RAM, with six Servers (Two IBM Servers And Four HCL Servers). Most of the systems are Dual-Boot and for students we use Fedora Linux Distribution and for Servers we use Debian, Ubuntu or Cent O.S. We have Microsoft Campus Licence Agreement. We mainly depend on Free and Open Source Softwares for example KOHA, DSPACE, MOODLE, FEDENA
